Welcome to Orange
A quiet, peaceful city filled with beautiful historic homes
Orange is a city in Orange County, California. When compared to other cities in the area, the city is unique. This is the only city in which historic dwellings may be found within the town district. These houses were built before 1920. In the 1960s, such houses were razed in the area. The city's population was 139,812 persons according to the most recent census.
During the nineteenth century, the town flourished rapidly, as did other communities in California. Citrus fruits were in high demand in California, making this conceivable. This was a time known as the Orange Era. During this time, there was a real estate boom. As a result, a large number of individuals flocked to the region. It was followed by rail and road construction. Agriculture fueled the economy until the 1950s when real estate surged in the area for the second time. The real estate boom fueled expansion, and many communities in California were connected together. A sizable outer urban area was established. To accommodate more people, new residences were erected. The practice was repeated until the city reached its current size.
Orange County's residential architecture landscape is unusual in that it includes a section dedicated to historic residences. Homes in Orange's "Old Town District," also known as its "Old Town District," were built before the 1920s, and Orange is the only city in the area to have elected to keep them rather than demolish them during the 1960s. Craftsman bungalows, hip roof cottages, arts and crafts movement-inspired estates, classic Spanish Colonial revivals, and various other Mediterranean and Victorian themed architectural styles are among Orange's most popular house designs.
